Stockpiling 101

Building your stockpile
In order to be a “serious couponer” you have to be prepared to build a stockpile.  It can be a small stockpile, or even a big one.  Everyone has a personal sense of how much stockpile to build for themselves and their families.  If you choose to stockpile, you will want to make sure to set aside a designated area to keep your stockpile.  Make sure that you keep it organized.
One of the most important parts of stockpiling knows your sale cycles.  When an item goes on sale, and you have coupons for them, stock up while they are at rock bottom prices, so you won’t have to buy them at full price later.  You will want to keep a large quantity of coupons on hand for the items that you use, so that when there is a good deal, you will be able to buy a lot.  YOU WILL SAVE BIG MONEY BY DOING THIS!!!
Be careful of overbuying on items that have a shelf-life.  You will want to make sure that you rotate your stockpile and give away or donate the items that you know that you won’t use.
*** Most deals at supermarkets and grocery stores repeat about every 4-6 weeks.  Some deals are annual (mostly seasonal- summer clearance, cheap candy after Halloween, Easter, etc.).
